Apart from walking or cycling, it is hard to imagine a cheaper family activity than crab fishing. For around Ten pounds you can buy everything you need to keep the youngsters happy all day. (It does seem however that some Mums and Dads find it addictive too!). Some enjoy the crab fishing so much that they come back again and again. Subsequent days cost even less. Already owners of your crab tackle, all you will need is bait.

A bucket, crab line or even better, Drop Net, and some bait is all that you will need to lure the hungry crabs that lie in wait along the quayside. Don’t just expect crabs though, fish of several varieties are also landed on the crab fishing gear.

Gobies, blennies and wrasse can be plentiful in the warmer months.
